Discover Burgers & Billiards

Walking into Burgers & Billiards for the first time, I wasn’t expecting the balance it strikes so well-comfort food done right alongside a space that actually respects the game. Located at 1222 TX-16, Graham, TX 76450, United States, this diner-bar hybrid has become a go-to spot for locals who want a solid meal without giving up a laid-back night of pool. On my last visit, a weekday evening, every table had a mix of families finishing dinner and regulars lining up shots, which says a lot about how well the place reads its crowd.

The menu leans classic, but not lazy. Burgers are clearly the anchor, and the kitchen treats them with the care you’d expect from people who cook them all day. Patties are cooked to order, seasoned simply, and served hot enough that the cheese melts properly instead of stiffening on contact. I watched the grill line during a slow moment, and they follow the same method consistently-fresh beef, flat-top sear, rest before assembly. That aligns with best practices recommended by organizations like the USDA, which notes that proper cooking temperature and resting time improve both safety and flavor. The result here is juicy without being greasy, which is harder to pull off than it sounds.

Beyond burgers, the menu covers wings, fries, and diner staples that make sharing easy while playing a few rounds. One regular I talked to mentioned they always order the wings because they come out fast and stay crispy, even when the place is busy. That consistency shows up in reviews too, where customers often describe the food as always hits the spot and never overdone, phrases you hear repeatedly when a kitchen has its timing dialed in.

The billiards side isn’t an afterthought. Tables are well-spaced, cues are in good condition, and the felt is maintained, which matters to anyone who actually plays. According to data from the Billiard Congress of America, proper table maintenance directly affects play accuracy, and you can feel that here. Shots roll true, and there’s enough lighting to avoid shadows without turning the room into a spotlighted arena. I’ve played in places where pool feels like a gimmick; here, it’s clearly part of the identity.

Service matches the vibe-casual but attentive. On one visit, our server noticed a long wait at the grill and let us know upfront, then comped an extra basket of fries without being asked. That kind of transparency builds trust, especially in a diner setting where expectations are straightforward. You’re not here for white tablecloths; you’re here for honest food and a good time, and the staff seems to understand that instinctively.

Location-wise, being right on TX-16 makes it easy to swing by whether you’re coming from work or heading out for the evening. Parking is simple, and the crowd tends to be a mix of locals and travelers passing through Graham. That mix keeps the energy relaxed rather than cliquey, which can happen in smaller towns.

There are limits worth noting. During peak hours, noise levels climb, and if you’re looking for a quiet dinner, timing matters. Also, the menu doesn’t chase trends-no plant-based experiments or fusion dishes-so if you want straightforward American diner fare, you’ll feel right at home, but adventurous eaters might find the selection familiar.

Overall, the strength of Burgers & Billiards lies in doing two things well instead of ten things halfway. Real burgers, real pool, and a space that lets both coexist without stepping on each other. For a place that locals recommend and visitors remember, that balance is the whole point.

  • These burgers are always great. So are the fries, fried pickle/jalapeños. The service this visit was very fast, but sometimes is very slow. I believe the pool tables were recently refelted. Very nice. They also have some arcade games, & a new style jukebox.

  • Ordered a burger in the drive-thru. Didn’t realize it was almost closing time. The staff was friendly and the food was great. We had burgers.

  • We visited this place on 4/11. Competitive prices, friendly informal environment, good food, definitely a good pick when in Graham.

  • Worth your money for sure. Burgers can easily hold their own against 5 Guys, even a step above. Cooked well, and not sloppy with the veggies and condiments. Single patty was sufficient you better be hungry for a double. The fries were meh. Skinny fries cooked like home fries just don't work for me, but the taste was okay. Soft drink was kinda flat ( it happens). The service was excellent. Very friendly, prompt and attentive. Nice, clean set up. Know that you approach the drive-thru from the back in the gravel lot and currently does not circle the building. On a better day with the coke not flat it gets 4-1/2*. Update: Still worth your money. I visit Graham once or twice a year, wanted a burger and it was still really good. The staff was still very nice and efficient.
